Live background music creates a mood of festivity as guests mingle. The Celtic harp is ideal as a background instrument: guests find it easy to chat over the gentle voice of a harp, yet its shimmer of sound can reach every corner.

The music I play evokes both serenity and celebration: while it flows smoothly along, it is never bland or monotonous. I mix gentle slow airs with flying-hearted dance tunes and breezy song melodies. I play mostly traditional tunes from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and Brittany, but I also include some American compositions, some lush modern arrangements, some Medieval and Renaissance works, and a few well-known Classical pieces—Celtic harp-style!

Ceremony Music

If you are planning a wedding ceremony, the harp can add a magical shimmer of sound. I can play for all or some of the ceremony components: prelude, processional, recessional, moving music. My wedding fee includes a consultation in advance to choose particular songs which will set the tone you're looking for.
